In Office Mini Facelift and Extended Neck Lift
In Office Mini Facelift
A Mini-Facelift is a cosmetic procedure whereby the skin of the neck and lower third of the face is lifted to give a fresher more overall appearance. This procedure removes the joweling of the lower facial area. The process improves the jaw line, reduces or even eliminates the extra skin underneath the chin; brings back the fat into your cheeks, and gives roundness to the face that is very natural and significantly more youthful. This is accomplished in our office with local anesthesia.

In Office Mini Facelift with Extended Neck Lift
In addition to the In Office Mini Facelift, we can also do an Extended Neck Lift.
The earliest signs of aging often appear in the neck area. A Neck Lift is way to subtly diminish these signs of aging through the removal of excess skin and fat.
A Neck Lift addresses the sagging jowls, loose neck skin and fat accumulation under the chin. The neck lift incision begins in front of the ear and wraps around behind the ear, and ends in the posterior hair behind the ear. If fat needs to be removed from under the chin this may require an additional small incision under the chin.
A Neck Lift can treat:
- Excess fat deposits in the neck.
- Sagging or excess neck skin.
- Jowls or a double chin.
Neck lift surgery is a safe and effective way to tighten underlying neck muscles to improve muscle contour. After a neck lift, your skin will appear tighter and smoother — creating a more attractive, youthful-looking contour. If you’re bothered by excess neck skin, call our office at 717-741-9914 to schedule a consultation with Dr. Kenna.
Mini-Facelift Frequently asked questions:
A Mini face lift is a procedure that can be performed in the office under local anesthesia.
This procedure will lift the facial tissue and remove excess skin of the face and neck. This will tighten the skin, reduce wrinkles, and help restore a more youthful appearance.
Our patients have been extremely happy with their decision and feel that they are more confident in themselves and their appearance.
Q: How long does a mini facelift last?
A: A patient who has undergone this procedure will ALWAYS look younger for their age than if they did not have surgery. Some patients may want to repeat the procedure in 10-15 years. Many will never feel they need another.
Q: What can I expect on the day of surgery?
A: The morning of your procedure you will take a mild sedative to relax. At the beginning of the operation the surgeon will use a local anesthetic to numb the side of the face, using a small gauge needle. This is the only time you will feel discomfort and it is quickly over. The procedure will start on the right side of your face and neck. This takes about 1 ½ hours. We will then place a temporary dressing on the patient to allow them to stretch, drink some water and take a bathroom break. We then repeat the procedure on the left side. The entire process takes about 3 1/2 hours. Many patients fall asleep while the surgeon is working. At the end we will place a light head dressing on the patient, and they are sent home to rest.
Q: How painful is a mini facelift?
A: Most patients describe their post op course as “discomfort”, easily treated with Tylenol and ibuprofen. We do prescribe a small amount of pain medication just in case it is needed.
Q: What can I expect after the procedure?
A: When your procedure is over our patients go home and rest, using ice packs to help reduce the swelling. The following day you can remove the dressings and shower as well as shampoo the hair. No further dressing required.
Q: Is there bruising?
A: Everyone is different, and some patients have minimal bruising other mild bruising which resolves in 1-2 weeks. Many people return to their regular activities in a week.
Q: Are there sutures to be removed?
A: Some sutures will need to be removed at week 1 as well as week 2 post op.
Q: Where are the scars placed?
A: The incisions are placed so they are hidden in the hairline, then along the natural crease of the front of the ear and then along the back of the ear.
